Every Who down in Whoville liked Christmas a lot

As promised, we put up our tree. Finally. Will was ready to put up his "Merry Christmas Tree" early last week. So this morning, the moment Daddy got out of bed, he was sent downstairs to get the holiday tubs.
Emmy wasn't too sure about the whole deal.Wow, this is crazy. Will is a master ornament placer. The easiest way he found is to put 90% of them on the same branch.Em tried to put one ornament on but that was more than plenty. She spent the rest of the time dancing to the Christmas tunes on the tv. Will was in it for the long haul and only pushed Emmy down twice (or three times).
Here she is in her full regalia. We even found the tree skirt we bought on clearance last year.
When the tree was done, Will took some time to carefully place some of our other festive decor around on the only open surface in our house. Daddy helped a lot but he was the photographer so we don't have any pics of him. (Well, except for that is him behind the reflection of the flash in the tv.)So as the insanity of the holidays creeps ever closer we would like to say - MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

Annual Thanksgiving Season

So for the past few weeks we have been sick around these parts. Will had a fever and was out for 4 days, then Em was throwing up and was out for three and now Will has the pukies and is home today and will be again tomorrow though he is on the mend. We are so incredibly lucky to have Gram around to hang out and help heal the babies. All the sick would make sense as the holidays are coming up and we are ALWAYS sick for at least Thanksgiving. We have missed three of the five that Brad and I have been together due to one illness or another. Anyways, despite all the sick we still have humorous children. This is Emerson and her really long tongue. She has been exploring different ways she can move it and will imitate what others do. She can't roll it yet. I would guess she will be able to eventually as the rest of our family have that gene.
Gram came home from an English Tea and brought Will a paper crown. He is truly the king around these parts. And it is in his favorite color! Last night at supper, Em appeared to get bored with her pancakes and started snacking on her toes. She seems to be exploring her flexability lately and likes to cover her ears with her feet.So much fun and very sticky. Note the pieces of pancake in the hair. Fortunately it was bath night. This is Will today. Doesn't look so sick, does he? He ate some mac & cheese and kept it down so we are hoping for the best. Here is a picture Will took of me. "Say cheese, Mom!" He almost got all of my head. It might help if I show him how to look at the screen instead of scrunching up his eyes by the eye viewer to see what he is taking pictures of. What a month. Bring on the holidays!

I got rhythm, I got music...

Could these children belong to anyone else?!?

So looking forward to the time when they can sit still long enough to take lessons. Eventually we will be the Karstens Family Singers. And Daddy can film the productions from the sidelines.

Halloweening

Kay, as you well know, I'm a loser mom and I took zero pictures of my kids in their costumes this year. Nice. I know. But if you want to see a glimpse of them you can check them out at Languishing. Cause my sister is way cooler than me.
