So little time.
I missed Emmy's 1st birthday and I think I left the beautiful pictures that Auntie Vickie took for me at the cabin so I will bypass that event right now and come back to it when I get my shtuff together.
The weekend after Em's party at the cabin we made the trek once again, this time with Gram in van and left Thursday morning so we had a little extra time. It was cold the whole weekend. Sweatshirt and jeans cold and the pilot on the furnace wasn't lit. I mean really, who doesn't keep that lit in the middle of July. We baked a chicken one night to warm us up and that was just fine.
Will tried his hand at fishing again. At one point three fish swam around the lure but no takers. He did practice some casting and was able to get it about 5 feet from the dock a couple of times. That was fun.
Auntie Lisa and Gramma Lorraine came over Saturday to hang with us. Will had lots of fun playing with Lisa in the hammock. He had to take a rest for a while after swinging Lisa over and over and falling down under the net a few times.
Yes, this was taken in July. Em is chilling with Gramma Lorraine. This was one of the very few times she wasn't scooting or cruising around anything that didn't move. It makes Gramma happy when she will sit with her. We were lucky enough to get to celebrate Lorraine's 76th birthday while we were out here. Looking good, Gramma!
Snoozing with Gram on the beach after lots of playing. This was Sunday when the sun actually showed itself. It was a beautiful day and very warm and relaxing in the sun. Mom and Dad were busily packing the van at this point. We so love having Gram around.
The one thing we found for Gram to do while we were there besides volunteering to watch the kids. This is Anderson Gardens - a community maintained arboretum in Litchfield. Both Mom and I were impressed with the beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs. We will be making a return trip, hopefully in the fall.
Seems the summer is flying by. We are so lucky to have a wonderful place to rest, relax and refresh like Lake Minnie Belle.
