Hush Little Baby
For about the last year and a half every night Will requests that I sing Hush Little Baby and Frosty the Snowman. Every night without fail. On the rare occasion that Brad takes him to bed, he is asked to sing those songs as well. Sometimes he asks for momma to buy the things in the song but generally it is daddy. One day last summer or fall he asked for "hush little baby happy daddy." Happy daddy? I wasn't sure what that was all about but I thought a minute and it fit into the song so I sang it that way for him. Now that is the standard - hush little baby happy daddy. I don't mind so much but I figured the momma could buy some stuff some times. I mean I'm a generous person overall, why not happy momma?.
Well, the other day Brad and I were talking about how wiggly Will has become when it is time to go to bed. At one point he asked me if I sing the Happy Mommy song. Happy Mommy? Finally the answer. We both get our time in the song, just with the corresponding parent. Smart boy I have there. Smart boy.
